The Pod People

Yes, I admit, I am one of them. A Pod person - iPod to be exact. I love my iPod. It's shiny and red and lets me carry my favorite music all around with me. It's great.

Audio books are pretty cool. I like to listen to them while I exercise. Well, actually, I just go to a branch and get a Playaway, because it's less for me to keep track of, but it's the same idea. Just pop in some headphones and enjoy the voice of someone you don't know while you get in some daily exercise. You get healthy, plus you're entertained - Bonus!

What I plan to do with my mp3 player... Hmm... I'm truly addicted to my iPod and will fight people over the whole Mac vs. PC thing. All I'll say is my Mac doesn't crash. So, I'm thinking it will make a great birthday or Xmas gift.

It's Alive!

I really like the liveplasma site, being visual myself. I also found a lot of bands that made me think, "Hey, I've heard of them, but never listened to them. Maybe I should since they are linked to (insert band I like here)." I did not like the other map one because it kept wiggling! Down with the wiggles! (No offense meant to those who like the kids show, just in my reading materials.)

I played around with widgets a bit, but didn't do too much with them. I mean, fun to look at, but I'm not big on keeping up with the latest. My news is digested in small, sarcastic comments made by the Orlando Weekly. Ok, also on my yahoo site by headlines... But those aren't as funny.

As for the whole, do I agree with Metallica or Napster - um... I still haven't made up my mind. In college, Napster was great! But, at UCF, they put restrictions on it because it was eating up too much bandwidth. I only used it to check out artists I wasn't that familiar with anyways, before I bought the album. Now, I just buy used albums online, so if I don't like it I'm only out about $3 at most.

Week Eight-ish

Well, as it turns out, I do not own a digital camera. So, I will have to mooch off of the other people in my department to put up any pictures. I guess on this point I am a traditionalist, as I really like the look and feel and 'grit' of FILM. :) For further arguments about why film is better than digital, just google it, you'll find both sides.

I kind of like the prototype thing. It's fun to play with, but I don't think I'd ever really use it. I mean, I already have a My Yahoo email site, which is basically the same idea, but with more useful information. I did like the puppy though. I'd prefer a kitty, but I couldn't find that option.

Library Thing

I rather liked the Unsuggester... only problem being I could read down the list and go, "Read that, read that, read that" and most of them I rather liked. *shrug* Oh, well. I do have a rather... um... shall we say interesting... reading list. Pretty much, if it's placed in front of me, I'll read it. :)

Five for Fun

Ok, if you haven't, you totally gotta check out Meez. Why? Because we're being paid to play!!! How cool is that?!! For a preview, you can check out my emo self. Just look to the right. Which means, I figured out how to add my Meez to my blog.

I rule! (throws arm up in air)

Bonus points if you know which movie that came from.

MY space and YOU tube

Well, I can say I've actually used both sites before. I don't much care for YouTube though, because I'd rather watch a long boring foreign or independant film.

MySpace because my cousins kept bugging me about it and wouldn't leave me alone until I finally put a page up. Which, in a way, has been pretty cool because some old friends from high-school have contacted me that way. Sure, we have nothing in common anymore and not much to say, but it's neat to be randomly contacted by someone who knew-you-when... well, I'll leave off *my* whens. Besides, most of them were in college anyways. :)

I really liked the Web 2.0 video this week. It appeals to my complete and total lack of concentration by using stream of conciousness. Stream good. Concentration bad.

See what I mean?

I'm a visual learner, though I have been working to improve my other ways of learning. Mainly because my husband is a "do you hear me?" auditory learner. So, communication is a challenge when we are talking in different 'languages.'

I already have RSS feeds on my My Yahoo mail account, so this wasn't really anything new to me. I like science, so I get what's new in the world of science as well as Rueter's top news stories of the day. They tend to be slightly less biased than, say, the Orlando Sentinel.

welcome to my blog

Today I learned my work email address. :) Here I always thought it was just my first initial, but no, it's my whole name.

I'm not a big fan of blogs. I just don't want people to know that much personal information about me. If I wanted you to have that information, I would prefer to give it to you in real life. Um... I am in a guild online at neopets.com. We talk about personal issues in that, but it's a much smaller, more committed group of individuals. Check out the site sometime, it's got a bunch of games - some are like "old-school" Atari even.
